Octopus Fixed
One rate, locked for the term · Electricity

Fixed products change name every few months
Octopus does not keep one fixed product open indefinitely. It launches a new one every few months, named after its launch date, and closes the previous one to new customers. That is why this page resolves whichever fixed product is currently on sale rather than naming one — the name in your account may be an older product that is no longer offered.
There is usually a low standing charge variant too, which trades a higher unit rate for a much smaller daily charge. It suits a low-consumption household, a second property or a flat that is empty much of the year; it is a poor deal for a high user. See standing charges explained.
Should you fix?
Fixing wins when wholesale prices rise during your term and loses when they fall. Nobody reliably knows which will happen, so treat it as insurance: you are paying a premium to remove the risk of a bad winter, not making a bet you expect to win.
Check the exit fee before you sign. A fixed tariff with a per-fuel exit fee costs real money to leave early, and the compare page shows the fee on every fixed row.
Common questions
Does Octopus charge an exit fee on fixed tariffs?
Most Octopus fixed tariffs carry an exit fee per fuel if you leave before the end of the term. The current fee is shown on each fixed row of the compare page.
What is the Octopus low standing charge tariff?
It is a fixed product with a much lower daily standing charge and a higher unit rate. It suits households that use little electricity; heavy users pay more overall.
